First workshop: getting to know our schemas.
The “merciless standards” / “hypercritical” pattern is one that can very easily and typically be present in most of our lives. We work hard—even struggle—to be accepted and loved. We can be tense and find it hard to relax because we’re afraid of criticism. This leads to various reactions and coping mechanisms, many of which aren’t right for us, yet we do them anyway.
Where does this come from within me, what is my need, what am I carrying with me, and what steps should I take toward change? We’ll also seek answers to these questions in the workshop, where we’ll explore this framework.
